12-string guitars

The jumbo model is the proven body shape for gbl's 12-string guitars.

But every customer can of course submit personal preferences to start the dialogue between customer and builder.

gbl 12-string guitars are characterized by differentiated nuances in the overall sound, expansive volume and maximum transparency.

This is achieved through the overall careful finish and the type of soundboard bracing (X-bracing).

Different timbres are influenced by the choice of wood, e.g. aged spruce is preferred for the soundboard. Maple is used for the necks.

For the body several woods are on offer - which of course also influence the sound of the instrument: maple, East Indian rosewood, rosewood, walnut and cherry.

Fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony, the frets are made of wood chips.

The neck is reinforced by an adjustable steel rod accessible through the sound hole. Neck shape and width can be chosen by the customer.

The head can be "cut out" upon request.

Schaller mini M6 with ebony buttons are the most commonly used mechanisms.

The scale is usually 650 mm, saddle and purfling are made of bone.
